Joel J. Java, Jr.

Bio:
Joel J. Java, Jr. is a member of Roach, Brown, McCarthy & Gruber, P.C. and has been with the firm since 1999. Mr. Java concentrates his practice on the defense of litigated claims, including the defense of medical professionals, hospitals and nursing homes. Mr. Java also has experience in investigating and defending general liability claims, automobile accidents, construction accidents, including claims under New York State Labor Law, claims against public authorities, claims brought under the General Municipal Law and insurance coverage disputes. In addition, Mr. Java has experience defending civil rights claims brought pursuant to 42 USC §1983. Mr. Java has successfully tried cases in New York State Supreme Court and has successfully argued appeals before the Appellate Division, Fourth Department. Mr. Java is also admitted to practice in the Western District of New York and the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Java is a summa cum laude graduate of State University of New York at Albany and a magna cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He is currently a member of the Erie County Bar Association, the Defense Trial Lawyers Association and the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Java formerly served as board member with the Defense Trial Lawyers Association and is a past Secretary of that organization.
