Kayla A. Hughes

Bio:

Ms. Hughes’s practice includes medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and general negligence matters.

Ms. Hughes is a graduate of the State University of New York at Oswego, where she graduated cum laude. She received her Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Hughes was an active member in a number of programs in the school’s Advocacy Institute, and was selected to represent the school in two trial team competitions. Additionally, Ms. Hughes was a participant in the Charles S. Desmond Moot Court Competition and a member of the law school’s Moot Court Board. Ms. Hughes was also a research assistant to two SUNY Distinguished Professors at the University at Buffalo School of Law. Further, Ms. Hughes is a member of the Order of Barristers.

After law school and prior to joining Roach, Brown, McCarthy & Gruber, P.C., Ms. Hughes worked for a local law firm defending physicians, hospitals, and medical institutions in malpractice cases.

Ms. Hughes is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Western District of New York.  She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County, and the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association.

Ms. Hughes is also part of the Volunteer Adjunct Faculty for the University at Buffalo School of Law where she helps assist and mentor students in the Trial Team program to prepare them to compete in national mock trial competitions.
