John P. Danieu

Bio:

Mr. Danieu, a shareholder in the firm, has over twenty years of experience as a trial attorney. His practice focuses on the defense of physicians and hospitals, nurses and mid-level providers in complex medical malpractice litigation. He also has considerable experience in representing health care providers in hospital credentialing disputes and licensing matters before the New York State Department of Health, New York State Education Department, and the New York State Commission on Quality Care.

Mr. Danieu has had tremendous success in defending physicians and hospitals at trial in high exposure cases in Courts throughout the State of New York. He has been retained on federal court cases in the Unites States District for the Western District of New York as well as United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. His litigation practice has included successful appellate work in the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division and United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

While focusing on the representation of health care professionals, Mr. Danieu has also had significant experience in representing large corporations in commercial disputes and litigation. He has also handled hundreds of cases defending municipalities in personal injury litigation, defending building owners and contractors in personal injury claims arising out of construction accidents and defending manufacturers and distributors in products liability litigation.

Mr. Danieu has been invited to lecture at numerous seminars on various topics of trial practice and medical malpractice defense. He has also been a frequent speaker to physician groups and hospitals on topics of risk management. Most recently, Mr. Danieu served as the Program Chair for the 2012 New York State Bar Association Seminar on Medical Malpractice Litigation

Mr. Danieu is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has been elected by his peers to serve as an officer of the Western New York Trial Lawyers. He was also selected for membership in the Association of Defense Trial Lawyers, an organization comprised of preeminent defense trial lawyers throughout the United States. Mr. Danieu has also served on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on the Tort System.

Mr. Danieu’s talents have been recognized by his peers through his inclusion in the New York Super Lawyers.

Mr. Danieu served as a Director for the Westminster Early Childhood Program for five years, was the President of its Board of Directors for 2001-2002. He also serves as President of the Crag Burn Village Association, Inc.
